Cousin Athena's Visit

My cousin Athena's parents had to go on a trip for 10 days so she stayed with us for 10 days. Athena is a Border Collie / Lab mix about a year old. We had lots of fun running around and wrestling. Of course I had to let her know who was boss of the household. I found if I climb on her head and chew on her ears or nip her legs she will chase me around the house.

Yesterday Athena's parents came to pick her up, so I'm a little depressed that my playmate is gone. Well I still have my friends in the neighborhood to play with.

Where Do I Begin?

Well I finally figured out how to use the computer. A lot has happened over the last year. Mom and dad gave me a new home with lots of toys and lots of love. Mom and dad gave me all kinds of attention. Dad taught me how to go up and down the stairs, whew 3 floors of fun.

After a few weeks of making myself comfortable in my new digs, mom and dad took me for a long car ride. When we finally got out of the car, there were all these boats in a yard. Mom had to carry me up a ladder to checkout my new summer home "Sailor Dance". Dad was working on the boat, he's always working on the boat. I sniffed around checking everything out. I don't know who came up with the term "poop deck" but seeing that I was going to be a sailor I made my own poop deck, oops.

Over the next few months dad would take me out to the boat to keep him company while he worked on the boat. I would hangout in the cockpit and watch the ducks swimming past the boat.











This boating thing can be very tiring and the sun is not one of my favorite things either. I know all the shady spots on the boat.


As the summer progressed I got to go on some trips with mom and dad. I went to Mystic Seaport and Milford, CT. My favorite place to sleep is in the v-berth with mom and dad. My favorite thing to do on a hot summer day is play with the hose in the cockpit.




When the weather turned cooler Sailor Dance had to come out of the water and my sailing season was over. The days grew shorter and my 4 legged friends didn't come out as often.

Mom and dad play with me and try their best to keep me amused but sometimes I have to make my own fun, that's when I get into trouble. Something called the holidays rolled around and dad put up a tree in the living room. It had all kinds of shiny things and stuff hanging on it. I was warned, sniff but don't chew. One day they took me to this really cool pet store. There was all kinds of stuff there, birds and fish. I got to sit on Santa's lap.









Well now that the holidays are over and the weather is warming up I'm itching for boating season, well maybe it's this sweater that's causing me to itch.
